Liebster Award!!

LiebsterAward.pngThis post is different than what I usually write, because I’ve never been nominated for the Liebster Award! This award is given to bloggers by bloggers, and its main purpose is to connect bloggers. A big ‘thank you’ to Miriam from Crafted by Christ for nominating my blog!

The rules are:

  • Acknowledge the blog who nominated you and display the award
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger gives you
  • List 11 random facts about yourself
  • Nominate up to 11 other bloggers that you think are deserving of this award (with less than 200 followers)
  • Let the other bloggers know you nominated them
  • Give them 11 questions to answer

Now to answer the questions I was asked:

How long have you been blogging?

I started my blog just over a year and a half ago

How has God been working in your life this summer?

He’s been teaching me a lot of concepts about life through my vegetable garden – Yes, I’m serious, nature is an amazing picture of Him – and He’s been giving me lots of opportunities to practice using my time wisely, as it is easy for me to over commit and be too busy.

 What is your deepest passion?

Definitely helping people with the time and talents I’ve received from God

 Describe your dream vacation.

That’s easy, a week by myself in a small, secluded cabin or cottage close to a lake or pond with my walking shoes, books and computer, but no internet.

If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?

The ability to help everybody who asks me for it, so I don’t have to say ‘no’ so often; the ability to clear my schedule so I can write everything I want to; and my dream vacation.

 What is your greatest goal?

To live an abundant life in Jesus Christ, and to tell others how they can as well.

Other than writing, what are your hobbies?

I love sewing, crocheting, baking, gardening, and playing my violin

How did you come to know Jesus as your Savior?

I grew up in Church hearing the Bible preached, but I honestly can’t remember a specific time when I decided that I wanted to follow Jesus. I just know that following Him is the best thing anybody can do in this life, and it’s all I want for myself and the entire world.

What is your favorite book? Why?

This is such an unrealistic question, Miriam, how can anybody have a favorite! But, I love The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, because there is so much theology put so simply that even I can understand it.

If you could only write or only read, which would you pick?

Okay, this question is just unfair! But since I have to answer, I would say ‘write’, because there are always audio books – that’s not cheating, is it?

What is the most random fact you can think of right now?

Bioluminescence is the ability of a living organism to produce light – for example, a lightning bug. I don’t know how or why I remembered that fact from my fourth grade science.

11 random facts about myself;

  • I have lived in the same house since I was ten months old.
  • I would love to work in a small town bakery someday.
  • If I hear a song or piece of music enough times, I can play it on my violin, with no music.
  • I love taking walks after dark.
  • As much as I love the beauty and solitude of early mornings, I am not a morning person.
  • I like dogs better than cats.
  • I’m addicted to coffee.
  • I love simple, homegrown and homemade food – and I enjoy growing and making it.
  • I started babysitting and cooking meals for my family when I was 12.
  • I don’t like to draw attention to myself – I love being a fly on the wall.
  • Crowds of people stress me out… yeah, I’m really introverted.

I couldn’t think of anybody to nominate, but if you would like to answer for yourself any of the questions I was asked, please feel free to do so in the comments!

I usually try to post something twice a month, but due to a crazy schedule, this is going to be my only post for the month of August. Thank you again, Miriam, and I’m sorry it took me almost two weeks to get this up!
